Blueberry picking: questions and answers

When is blueberry picking season?

Late May to June in Florida and the Gulf states, June and July in the Mid-Atlantic and Midwest, and July into August in New England, Michigan and the Pacific Northwest.

How do you pick ripe blueberries?

Pick only berries that are blue all over with no red at the stem. Hold a bunch over your hand and roll the ripe ones off with your thumb; the unripe ones stay on the bush.
