  2. New York: 98 farms
  3. Wisconsin: 65 farms

Typical season by region

These are rough windows. A warm spring can move the start up by two weeks, a late frost can push it back. Season notes on farm pages are what the farm or a listing posted, sometimes for an earlier year.

Before you go

Check the farm's website or call on the morning you plan to go, go early, and bring water and sun protection. More in our U-pick tips.

In Florida and South Texas as early as December or January. Most of the Southeast starts in April, the Mid-Atlantic in May, and the North in June.

How long does strawberry season last?

Usually three to six weeks at a given farm. Day-neutral varieties and season-extending growing methods can stretch it into the summer and fall at some farms.

How do I know if a farm is open for picking today?

Check the farm’s website, social media page or phone line on the morning you go. Farms open and close fields from day to day depending on how much fruit is ripe and on the weather.
